Bannatyne Fitness boosts service performance with Masternaut
Leeds, UK, 07 April 2009 – The UK’s largest independent health club operator, Bannatyne Fitness is boosting its own performance with an innovative satellite vehicle tracking service from Masternaut Three X.
The Duncan Bannatyne-owned company will use the real-time system to monitor and manage its fleet of maintenance and service vehicles as they travel to and from the organisation’s 61 health clubs across the UK, enhancing driver safety and vehicle security.
Bannatyne Fitness chose to implement the system following the success of the solution at Dragons’ Den-winning Igloo Thermo Logistics, a company in which Duncan Bannatyne has an investment. Like Igloo, the health club operator aims to drive down costs, boost productivity and cut its environmental impact.
As well as improving the safety of its drivers and fleet, the live-tracking innovation will also assist Bannatyne Fitness in reducing fuel consumption by monitoring driving styles, ensuring that every drop of fuel will count as the mobile staff travel from site to site.
With the system’s GreenerFleet technology the management team gains real-time visibility of engine idling, allowing them to take action to minimise fuel wastage as well as shrinking the fleet’s carbon footprint.
The advanced tracking also allows management to monitor every driver’s location in real time and help them to avoid congested roads and traffic jams, keeping the workload on schedule. With this level of visibility, the maintenance team can be quickly redeployed to deal with urgent jobs.
"Having total visibility of your operation is essential - you need to know exactly where your team is and when. Masternaut Three X gives them the tracking and real-time communication tools they need to make sure their customers are kept happy and my investment is safeguarded," said Duncan Bannatyne, Chairman of the Bannatyne Group.
Duncan Bannatyne is one of the UK's most successful 'serial' entrepreneurs who has created a portfolio of respected leisure businesses as well as carving out a high profile media career.
In addition to the health clubs, Duncan also owns a number of hotels, a bar and a chain of 30 UK-wide health and wellbeing spas.
Outside of his business interests Duncan is best-known as a panellist on BBC Television's Dragons' Den. His strong opinions and sharp comments to the programme's would-be entrepreneurs have made him one of the most popular Dragons in the Den.
